Laos hydroelectric dam collapse: ‘hundreds missing’ after villages flooded

A massive, $1 billion dollar hydroelection dam project still under construction in Laos gave out on Monday, flooding the surrounding countryside. Hundreds of people are missing and the death count has not been established. The project was intended to be a solid source of income for poverty-stricken Laos, as it intended to export 90% of the resulting energy to Thailand.
