Cyber thieves have stolen $761 million from cryptocurrency exchanges in the first 6 months of 2018. This is triple the amount stolen from exchanges in all of 2017. “This overall market expansion has created a whole new generation of cyber criminals that didn’t exist 15 months ago,” as laundering markets arise to process these stolen funds, said one blockchain security company CEO.
