Satellogic, an Argentine-based company, has opened customizable satellite services on a subscription basis. Target customers are corporations, NGOs, and governments unable to launch private satellites. The company has stated that they will abide by international regulations and only sell imagery over areas accessible to customers. “If you’re in Germany, we will only sell you pictures over Germany,” stressed a VP at the company. A subscription would cost roughly $20 million USD per year and provide access to a network of 10 satellites over a given area of interest. The satellites are capable of providing high-resolution imagery and hyperspectral imagery that can provide a range of details including chemical composition of objects.
