A twenty-nine-year-old Tunisian man was arrested on Wednesday for creating ricin, which prosecutors allege he was planning to use for an attack in the country that continues to combat extremism and suffer from competing political narratives of the extremism. No links to terrorist organizations have been found. In the past years, attacks in Germany have ranged from vehicle to explosives, but the use of chemicals and poisons by extremists has few precedents around the globe, in spite of their potential to cause mass casualties. One source reported that the suspect was arrested after a tip from American intelligence, although this report remains unconfirmed.
