Report: Trump mulling direct US military action to take Yemen port
Responding to what is considered by some to be the worst humanitarian situation in the world at present, President Trump is allegedly considering direct action to seize the country’s main port used to deliver humanitarian aid. The move has been requested by the United Arab Emirates and others who form the Saudi-led coalition poised to retake the port.
“First reported by the Wall Street Journal, the move would expand U.S. involvement in the brutal civil war that has been raging since 2014…U.S. officials told the journal that the coalition will not act without U.S. support. But a high ranking official told the newspaper that the administration has a “lot of concerns about a Hodeidah operation.”
